Isaac Devins Playground and Park

FFLA partnered with the local community and various City of Toronto departments to design a new park in Toronto’s northwest neighbourhood. The collaborative process included consultations on park circulation, layout, furnishings, and play structure options, with community feedback guiding the selection of key elements. FFLA produced the technical drawings for tender and provided contract administration throughout the construction phase. The project, involves refining the alignment of park entrances, circulation paths, and adjacent social spaces. New amenities being installed include benches, picnic tables, perennial plantings, trees, and a bottle filling station. The play area offers a complex structure for older children, a toddler play structure, swings, and a sand area with an armourstone seatwall. A new adult fitness area with equipment has also been added. Additionally, FFLA designed a wall, fence, and planting bed layout to integrate the park seamlessly with the surrounding area while meeting City requirements. The construction was completed in spring 2024.
