DUKE Park
The park replaces a defunct TTC bus loop and acts as a functional circulation route between existing TTC bus transfer stops and the western gateway to the DUKE Heights BIA corridor along Finch Avenue West. The project features two plaza spaces, each serving a busy TTC bus stop with ample square Ipe wood benches, planting beds with raised pedestrian walkways, decorative boulders and canopy trees. The south most plaza on Finch Ave. West features a custom galvanized steel pergola has a custom designed weathering steel panel with laser cut DUKE logo pattern which will reveal itself in on the pavement when sun shines. The custom DUKE logo weathering steel panel ties into the railings of the pedestrian walkway that traverses the edge of the G. Ross Lord Park to take TTC users to their connecting bus on Dufferin Street. This project formalizes a desire line that pedestrians have used for years on the former defunct TTC bus turnaround route, and enhaces the experience with native perennial and canopy tree plantings along the route.
The project was completed in 2025.
